According to the Östergötland Region, the established organization works to identify and meet the needs and challenges that the war in Ukraine may entail in the region's operations.
According to the region, this includes preparing for refugee flows, reviewing material supply, IT security and meeting any information impact.
The region handles the issues in the same management structure as the pandemic issues have been handled - ie within regional special healthcare management.
Reinforced crisis management staff
The County Administrative Board of Östergötland will soon start a strengthened crisis management staff, but the focus right now is to monitor the outside world and follow developments.
The County Administrative Board also informs SVT Öst that it has close and close contacts with the Armed Forces and other actors in the county.
According to the county administrative board, it is currently too early to say how a possible refugee reception can affect Östergötland, but the authority receives ongoing information from the Swedish Migration Board on the matter.
