Every year at the National People's Congress and the National People's Congress, Zhang Zhilong will prepare three to five different proposals, which must involve the medical field.

Zhang Zhilong is a famous Chinese medicine practitioner in Tianjin. In his early years, he successively studied under Professor Li Yulin, Academician Shi Xuemin and Academician Zhang Boli.

He is currently the vice president and doctoral supervisor of Tianjin Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In addition to attending clinics in his affiliated hospitals, Zhang Zhilong is also the deputy head of the Tianjin Traditional Chinese Medicine Expert Group for the Prevention and Treatment of New Coronary Pneumonia. Since 2020, he has been fighting the front line of the epidemic.

The National Two Sessions are about to be held, Zhang Zhilong revealed in an interview with reporters that in view of the rigid demand for nutrition diagnosis and treatment of clinical patients in China and the huge shortage of nutrition doctors, a group of qualified clinical nutrition doctors should be trained as soon as possible to meet the needs of the public.

Zhang Zhilong pointed out that the development of clinical nutrition work has an important impact on disease rehabilitation and medical quality and safety.

Research at home and abroad has fully proved that scientific nutrition diagnosis and treatment can effectively reduce the incidence of complications and mortality, shorten hospitalization time, save medical expenses, and improve clinical outcomes, benefiting hundreds of millions of patients around the world.

At present, China's National Clinical Nutrition Professional Medical Quality Control Center has been established, and 28 provincial-level clinical nutrition quality control centers have been established.

However, the current construction of clinical nutrition professionals cannot meet the needs of the people, and the serious shortage of professional nutritionists has become a bottleneck restricting the development of nutrition diagnosis and treatment.

According to the survey results of the Nutrition Physician Special Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association in 2018, among the 660 tertiary hospitals in China, the number of nutrition physicians was only 1,421.

According to the statistics of the national NCIS system in 2020, the number of nutrition physicians in the country has increased to 3,553, of which 66.03% are physicians with a professional background in clinical medicine.

Compared with the nutritional diagnosis and treatment needs of hundreds of millions of inpatients and billions of outpatients every year and the proportion of hospital beds, the shortage of nutritionists is 40,000 to 60,000.

Zhang Zhilong suggested that "clinical nutrition" should be set as a compulsory course for undergraduate study of clinical medicine majors in colleges and universities, the standardized training of residents should increase the rotation of "nutrition" professional departments, and the pilot work of standardized training of clinical nutrition specialists should be carried out. Physicians are trained according to the "shortage" professionals.

"As a doctor, my suggestions are mostly related to the development of medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, but as a representative of the National People's Congress, it is my responsibility to reflect the people's thoughts, thoughts, hopes, and calls to the relevant government departments." Zhang Zhilong told China News Agency reporter, he also prepared "Suggestions on Further Strengthening the Supervision of Live Animal Express Transportation" and "Suggestions on Further Improving the Management of Property Services".

Zhang Zhilong said that whether as a doctor or as a representative of the National People's Congress, he will continue to improve his ability and do his best to perform his duties for the people.
