Numbers that climb hour by hour.
Seven days after the launch of the Russian offensive in Ukraine, the population is fleeing en masse from the country in the grip of bombardments, passing through border countries such as Poland, Romania and Hungary.
This Wednesday, the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) listed exactly 874,026 refugees on its dedicated website, nearly 200,000 more people than the day before.
And according to the UN, there are 4 million people who might want to leave the country to escape the war.
In France, solidarity is organized, within the Ukrainian diaspora and beyond.
Collections to send basic necessities and medical equipment have already been launched and sent to Ukraine.
Now, it is the reception of refugees in France that is being prepared.
Several municipalities are ready to welcome refugees.
And on social networks, associations and individuals are mobilizing to identify or offer accommodation solutions.
Is this your case? Are you planning to welcome Ukrainian refugees to your home? What are your motivations ? Are you part of the Ukrainian diaspora? Are you preparing to welcome loved ones (family or friends)? Or is it important for you to participate in this surge of solidarity? What steps have you taken? Have you inquired with associations (which ones?)? Have you registered on platforms or with your municipality to offer accommodation? Tell us.
