Stupor this Wednesday afternoon at the University of Le Mans.
Around 1:40 p.m., an armed man entered the building of the faculty of letters, slightly injuring three students and a teacher, we learned from the prefect of Sarthe.
The assailant was arrested by the police.
It would be a student enrolled at the University of Le Mans.
Initially carrying a long stick, the individual landed in a room where a round table of students and former students was standing.
“He made incoherent remarks of a political and mystical nature immediately after his entry, without radical content according to the first testimonies”, indicates the prefecture.
He comes back with a knife
Summoned to leave the premises, the assailant then hit a student with his stick.
The latter retaliated causing the aggressor to fall to the ground.
“After coming to his senses, he fetched a knife from his bag and headed down the hall.
During his journey, he hit a teacher with his bare hands and then injured two female students with his knife.
The injuries caused are minor.
The two students and the injured student were however taken to the hospital”, indicates the prefecture of Sarthe.
In total, there were therefore four injured victims, two of whom were stabbed.
University buildings were evacuated.
A psychological support cell was opened for around thirty shocked students.
The attacker, who was arrested without resistance, was taken into custody.
