Over Yemen in the Middle East, where the civil war continues, the UN Security Council has adopted a resolution banning the export of weapons to rebels and the Houthis.

In Yemen in the Middle East, a civil war has been going on for more than six years between the UAE-backed government and the Iran-backed rebels, the Houthis.

The Houthis have repeatedly attacked Saudi Arabia with missiles and drones, but this time they also attacked the UAE, causing casualties to civilians.

The UN Security Council, which has been discussing how to deal with this, passed a resolution banning the export of weapons to the Houthis in Yemen on the 28th, with 11 of the 15 member states in favor of Brazil and Ireland. Four countries have withdrawn, but the resolution has been adopted.

The Security Council has previously banned the export of weapons to the Houthi leadership, but this resolution will extend the ban on arms exports to the entire Houthis.

The UAE, which proposed the resolution, emphasized in a statement, "The purpose of the resolution is to curb the spread of the war in Yemen. We need to put an end to the suffering of the citizens of the region."
