Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a joint interview with Reuters and CNN on the 1st local time.

President Zelensky bluntly said little progress had been made on the first negotiations with Russia held in Belarus the day before.

Five days after the war began, the two sides sat face to face for five hours, but to no avail.

President Zelensky emphasized the increasing civilian casualties in various parts of Ukraine, and emphasized that the first thing to do is to stop fighting.

[Volodimir Zelensky/President of Ukraine: I asked Russia to stop fighting first.

It must be done first.]

He also urged the NATO and NATO member states to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine in order to stop the Russian air force continuing bombardment every day.

In addition, he stressed the need for other safeguards if Ukraine's accession to NATO is rejected.

President Zelensky emphasized that if the attack does not stop, everything will be a waste of time and that further negotiations will be possible only when the Russian attack is stopped.

[Volodimir Zelensky/President of Ukraine: If that part (stop the attack) happens, Russia is ready for peace.

(But) If they are not prepared for this, everything is just a waste of time.]

Russia and Ukraine, who held their first meeting five days after the start of the war, have agreed to hold a second meeting, but have yet to decide when and where it will be held.

It seems that it will take some time for the talks to take place, as both sides are in the position of going to the additional negotiating table after analyzing the results of the first round of talks.
