Welcoming refugees in distress and distributing migrants

The response to the reception of these refugees must be done in two stages.

First of all the reception of refugees in distress, and then the distribution of migrants.

The subject was raised for the first time last Sunday by the 27 European Justice and Interior Ministers.

And a decision was taken: for 90 days, any Ukrainian national is free to move around in all the countries of the European Union.

SNCF has also announced free admission to all Ukrainians traveling on TGV and Intercités trains.

European interior ministers will meet again next Thursday, to prepare what is called a temporary protection regime, to go beyond the 90 days.

Finally, the French Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin is currently bringing together all the prefects to take stock of the reception capacities for refugees in the departments.
