"We want a full-fledged Ministry of Women's Rights with one billion (euros) dedicated to domestic violence, equal pay or the fight against all precariousness", he hammered, evoking a sum already put forward by other left-wing candidates, Christiane Taubira and Anne Hidalgo.

In the city where a feminicide took place in May 2021 which had shocked the whole of France, that of Chahinez Daoud, he paid tribute to this mother of three children who was shot and then immolated by fire in the street by her violent husband whose she was separated.

"With us, sexist and sexual crimes will be dealt with by an assize court and not by a criminal court", he said, hoping that "all victims of domestic violence will have quick and free access to care in psycho-traumatology".

His plan "goes through an increase in the means of the police" and justice "undressed by 20 years of austerity policy".

In a 1,500-seat room overflowing with people and which several hundred people could not access, he castigated the government and its "great cause" for women: "Great cause always! They will still wake up on the 8th March (International Women's Day) or the day before".

Observing that women are very present among "home helpers, accompanying elderly people or students with disabilities, childminders" etc., he proposed "a unique status" for these "link professions" and "the creation of a new public service (...) of the link" with hundreds of thousands of job creations at stake.

They "will be considered vital in our Republic".

He also promised to tackle the wage gap between men and women.

"We will force companies to make equality (salary) in one year", the State setting the example with a target of "six months" for the public service.
