On Monday, the Nice Criminal Court sentenced to two years in prison, one of which was suspended, a 71-year-old Italian-Argentine man who had been hired as a migrant smuggler by an Italian organization.

, the retired restaurateur received between 1,500 and 2,000 euros to carry out this mission.
According to the elements found on his mobile phone, since November 1, he has made around fifty trips with his Fiat Panda, registered in Monaco, with two migrants in the back and another in the trunk.
He was arrested last Friday with one of his 76-year-old friends, who was given an eighteen-month suspended prison sentence.
They were both banned from French territory for three years.
