FIFA and UEFA issued a joint statement on the 28th, suspending the participation of Russian clubs and national teams in all FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice.
The decision was adopted on the same day by the FIFA Council Bureau and the UEFA Executive Committee, the two organizations' highest decision-making bodies on such urgent matters respectively.
According to this decision, the Russian men's football team will not be able to participate in the Qatar World Cup qualifier semi-finals held on March 24, and Spartak Moscow will not be able to participate in the Europa League 1/8 finals.
