  At the meeting, Xiao Chan, deputy director of the National Climate Center, introduced the main contents of the 2021 China Climate Bulletin.

Xiao Chan said that in 2021, my country will have high temperature, more precipitation, obvious warm and humid characteristics, floods are heavier than droughts, extreme weather and climate events will occur frequently and frequently, and the climate year will be deviated.

  The annual climate has the following characteristics: In 2021, the national annual average temperature is 10.5 °C, which is 1.0 °C higher than the normal year (1981-2010), and it is the warmest year since 1951.

The annual average temperature of 11 provinces (regions) in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Ningxia, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hunan, Anhui, Henan, Guangdong, Hubei and Guangxi all hit a record high.

In 2021, there will be 9 regional high temperature events in my country, 5 more than normal and the most since 1961.

  In terms of precipitation, in 2021, the national average annual precipitation will be 672.1 mm, which is 6.7% more than normal. The northern precipitation will be the second largest in history, second only to 1964. The annual precipitation in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei is the largest in history.

  "In February, there were 2 cold air and 4 large-scale rain and snow weather events across the country, especially in the southern region where continuous low temperature rain and snow weather occurred, with an average temperature of only 6.6°C. Local areas in Yunnan, Guizhou, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Tibet, Hunan and other places suffered from low temperature freezing disasters and snow disasters." Wang Yawei said.

  Temperatures are expected to be high in most parts of the country in March.
