Guadeloupe faces violence.

Two investigations were opened after a man was found dead overnight from Sunday to Monday in Les Abymes, and another "wounded by bullets in a shootout" in Pointe-à-Pitre, the prosecution said.

The man, shot on the sidelines of the Carnival festivities, for Fat Sunday, called for help, and was transported to the Guadeloupe University Hospital.

He "refuses to speak to the police", further indicated Alexandra Onfray, deputy prosecutor of Pointe-à-Pitre.

A man known “for narcotics cases”

"For the second individual, a young man in his thirties, the autopsy will determine whether he was shot," said the same source.

The young man was known to the police, in particular “for narcotics cases”.

As these events took place in the police zone, the investigations were entrusted to the territorial management of the national police (DTPN).

For the time being, “no element makes it possible to link the two cases”, also indicated the parquet floor.
