military aid
For the first time in its history, the European Union will finance the purchase and delivery of armaments and other equipment to Ukraine, announced the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
For its part, Washington announced this Saturday new military aid to Ukraine for 350 million dollars, totaling more than a billion dollars over the past year.
Arms deliveries
On an individual basis, Germany has broken a taboo by agreeing to deliver arms to Ukraine, thus breaking its policy of banning all exports of lethal weapons to conflict zones.
Also breaking with its doctrine, Sweden announced on Sunday that it was going to deliver anti-tank weapons to Kiev.
France, for its part, decided on Saturday to deliver additional defense equipment and fuel support.
On the Belgian side, the country will provide 2,000 machine guns, 3,800 tons of fuel, 3,000 additional automatic rifles and 200 anti-tank weapons.
Humanitarian aid
Washington announced on Sunday $54 million in additional humanitarian aid to Kiev.
France, which will bring a resolution on humanitarian aid to Ukraine to the UN Security Council on Monday, sent 33 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Poland to help the Ukrainians.
More than 30 tonnes of material will also leave for Moldova at the beginning of the week.
Israel, for its part, will provide 100 tons of humanitarian material.
Millions of euros paid to Kiev
On the European Union side, Italy has paid 110 million euros in aid to the Ukrainian government.
Spain will send 20 tonnes of aid to Ukraine, mainly medical equipment and defensive equipment.
The Netherlands announced 20 million euros in humanitarian aid.
Finally, in Turkey, the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) announced the dispatch to Moldova of three long humanitarian aid vehicles for Ukrainian refugees.
