No, you weren't hallucinating if you came across two wallabies on a spree this Monday in the Plaisance-du-Touch sector, west of Toulouse.

During the night from Sunday to Monday, people broke into the town's African Safari and released two Bennett's wallabies, a kind of small kangaroos, from their enclosures, one of which is white.

Since then, members of the zoo have been trying to follow their trail to find them.

Municipal police, gendarmes and firefighters were mobilized all day to locate the two marsupials which would be between Plaisance-du-Touch and La-Salvetat-Saint-Gilles.

Although harmless, those who cross their paths are advised not to try to approach them: the animal being very fearful, it risks jumping up and injuring itself in its flight.

On the other hand, observers are invited to call 05.61.86.45.03 or 17.
