It was at around 20 on Saturday that the police received an alarm about a fire extinguished truck on the E22 outside Sölvesborg, in the direction of Karlshamn.
When the police patrol arrived at the scene, it was already too late.
- The truck driver has walked on the road by the extinguished truck and just before the police patrol arrived, a motorist called in and told that he had run over a person on the E22, police spokesman Robert Loeffel tells the newspaper.
Police report established
The truck driver was from Macedonia and relatives must be notified.
The police patrol had tried to save the driver's life but he had been out of rescue and died from the injuries.
The person who drove the car, who was from the Netherlands, must have been severely shocked by the incident.
A police report has now been made against the motorist and the incident will be investigated further.
