Syrian Permanent Representative to the UN condemned the anti-Russian campaign of the West around the situation in Ukraine

“SAR condemns the campaign organized and led by the West and its media against Russia,” Sabbagh said.

According to him, the deliberate dissemination of fake news, false claims, as well as fabricated photos and videos is condemned.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department added Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and members of the Security Council, as well as Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov to the sanctions list.

The EU sanctions list included the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin, the head of Transneft Nikolai Tokarev, as well as businessmen Alisher Usmanov, Mikhail Fridman, Alexei Mordashov, Gennady Timchenko.

Russian journalists Arkady Mamontov, Anton Krasovsky and Roman Babayan are included in the EU sanctions list.
