Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, held in Belarus on the 28th local time for the first time since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, ended in about five hours.

According to the TAS news agency, one person who participated in the meeting said that the meeting held in Gomel, Belarus ended around 7 pm local time (1 am Korean time).

The specific results of the talks were not immediately known, but given that the next meeting is scheduled, it seems that at least the collapse has been avoided.

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office, who attended the meeting, said the delegations from the two countries would return to their countries and hold consultations before proceeding with the next negotiations.

"The next meeting will be held on the Belarus-Polish border," said Russian delegation head Vladimir Putin's aide, Vladimir Medinsky, after the meeting.

Belta news agency Belta said the next round of negotiations would take place in the next few days, citing the Russian delegation.

The Russian delegation led by aide Medinsky on that day included Deputy Defense Minister Aleksandr Fomin, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, and Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Lower House of Representatives Leonit Slchutsky.

The Ukrainian delegation was made up of Podolyak, an adviser to the President's Office, Olegsi Rezhnikov, Minister of Defense, David Harahamiya, leader of the ruling party 'Servant of the People', and figures from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, the Ukrainian delegation came to the summit by helicopter via Poland on the afternoon of the same day, and the talks began shortly thereafter.

The meeting was originally scheduled to take place the day before, but was postponed several times as the Ukrainian delegation decided for safety reasons not to come directly to Belarus via the Russian-controlled northern border, but via Poland.

The Russian side said earlier that the summit would focus on discussing ways to neutralize Ukraine.

However, the Ukrainian side argued that the main agenda for the talks would be an immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian troops.
