Jesper Söder, who fought against IS for several years together with the Kurdish YPG, is awaiting the results of the talks between Ukraine and Russia.

The decision to travel down to take part in the conflict depends on the outcome of the negotiations.

- The hope is that I will not have to, he says and continues:

- I am willing to stand up for what is right.

It is to protect people who need help, who are fleeing or living in terrible conditions due to a dictator's madness of power.

"Love my life"

The plan is to go down with several other people he got to know during his years as a soldier.

When asked if he is afraid, he answers yes.

- Of course I am.

If I had not been, then you are insane.

I love my life, I have a girlfriend, family and a job, says Jesper Söder.

- You put your life on the line.

But hopefully I will be able to see myself in the mirror and say that I tried to make the world a better place.

"Not the best decision"

Several people have already written to Jesper Söder and asked about how to go down.

He emphasizes that he does not encourage anyone to do as he does.

- I'm not helping anyone down.

I do not want it on my conscience, says Jesper Söder.

- You have to think it through carefully.

I do not think it is the best decision, but I feel it is the right decision for me.

Impulsive thoughts are not good thoughts, you should get as much information as possible.

He has not yet decided how long he will stay in Ukraine.

- It all depends on the situation.

If I notice that it will be calm, maybe I will go home.

If it gets worse, you should focus on how many people you can evacuate and save.
