The City of Stockholm is ready to receive refugees who have fled the war in Ukraine. But according to the Social Citizens' Council, no one who has arrived in Stockholm has applied for asylum so far. Since Ukrainian citizens can stay in Sweden for up to 90 days without a visa, more people may have come but not applied for asylum. - Right now we have the capacity to receive between 200-300 people, but so far we have not received anyone, says City Councilor Jan Jönsson (L)
Together with Nynäshamn Municipality and Sigtuna Municipality, there is a reception support for the social services on site at the ferry terminal in Nynäshamn and at Arlanda Airport.
It is part of the recipient organization that has been built up since previous refugee flows.
- We follow the monitoring of the outside world well.
We have rigged vacant homes and our recipient organization is already up and running, says Jan Jönsson (L) Social Citizens' Council in the city of Stockholm.
