It was in mid-September that the Court of Appeal sentenced two men, 22 and 23 years old respectively, to life imprisonment for having murdered and dismembered a 57-year-old man in Karlskrona in July 2020.

Since then, the two men have been placed at the national clinic in Kumla, to undergo an investigation pending placement.

And now it is clear that the 23-year-old will serve his sentence at the institution Tidaholm, with security class 1 - the highest security class.

The 23-year-old wanted to be placed here

The 23-year-old himself had wanted to stay at Kumla, or to be placed at Tidaholm.

In the decision, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service writes that the investigation that has been done shows that the risk of escape or exemption regarding the 23-year-old is judged to be high.

The same applies to the risk of serious misconduct or crime.

The risk of the man using threats or violence is instead assessed as medium.

"The Tidaholm institution is judged to be a suitable institution with suitable security and employment," the authority writes.
