An Italian restaurateur from Vétraz-Monthoux (Haute-Savoie) offered to host the Ukrainian women's basketball team for three months.

Arrived in France in 2013, Carmelo D'Agostino is determined to do his best to help these Ukrainians and their coach, faced with the war in their country.

The manager of the pizzeria had this idea thanks to his Ukrainian friend, tells France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

The latter had met the players and their coach during a sporting event organized in Isère.

Sheets, beds, clothes…

Owner of a second location that is currently empty, the restaurateur has offered to house the team there until peace returns to Ukraine.

On his restaurant's Facebook page, he appealed for donations to furnish the premises before the arrival of the players "Tuesday or Wednesday"

.

Clothing, beds, sheets and blankets are in particular requested to welcome newcomers in the best conditions.
