There has been much speculation about President Vladimir Putin's health.

Carl Bildt, among others, has previously raised the issue of the president's self-isolation during the pandemic, causing him to start writing history for himself.

An image confirmed by Russia researcher Marin Kragh:

Step by step, he has become a kind of hobby historian who writes his own essays, he says.

"The beginning of the end for Putin"

Tonight's Agenda interviews Finland's former finance minister Alexander Stubb.

He has met Putin on several occasions, describing him as often well-prepared.

Now he perceives the Russian president as "all over the place".

- It seems that the war is not going as well as expected for Russia.

Then, of course, Putin can become desperate, and I'm very worried about that.

Alexander Stubb believes that Putin is sacrificing young soldiers in a way that can backfire on him, and that the war could be "the beginning of the end" for his era as president.

- But I do not know how long this end will take, is it a week?

One year?

Ten years?

he says.

"Hope for more rhetoric than reality"

Alexander Stubb sees it difficult for Putin to win over the Ukrainian people on the Russian side.

Now he hopes that the desperation he intends to see in Putin will not result in, for example, threats of nuclear violence.

- Now he has also talked about nuclear weapons opportunities, which of course makes us all very scared.

- We hope that this is more rhetoric than reality.
