Ali said: "I have lived in Kiev for 6 years, and we never expected that this war would break out, and even if it did, we expected that it would be limited to the eastern regions bordering Russia, but unfortunately the war broke out on a large scale and did not exclude the capital, and that is why days after its outbreak The situation is starting to get worse, and there are signs of a major humanitarian crisis in Kiev and Ukraine as a whole, where basic materials and commodities are scarce, and even banks are closed and life is almost suspended, which is why we had to leave.”

Ali told "Sky News Arabia", on his way to Poland, that he took his family, consisting of his wife and 4 children, to escape the war. , and I own a small oriental restaurant in Kiev, but today I decided to go out after I went down this morning to buy food for my children, but I could not find, where the groceries are completely closed, and the area around our residence was subjected to violent bombardment. It takes two days to be able to cross to Poland."

He added, "We will go from Poland to Germany, where my Ukrainian wife's family resides, and we will wait until things become clear. Either we return to Kiev, or we will stay in Germany, or we will return later to Egypt."

He says: "We left everything behind, my restaurant and the contents of our house, in order to survive... The situation has become very dangerous in Kiev, and I paid the taxi driver $900 to reach the border, which is a large sum, and I distributed the driver's phone number to my Egyptian friends. And the Arabs to move them to the borders.”

He concludes, "The number of Egyptians in Ukraine exceeds 6,000, between students and residents, and there are tens of thousands of other Arabs, and they are all in difficult conditions in light of this war. It is better for them to leave because the situation is getting worse."
