D-45 before the first round of the presidential election and the Ukrainian crisis takes precedence over the electoral campaign.

President Emmanuel Macron, who should declare himself officially at the end of next week, is at the center of the game. On Europe Matin Week-End on Saturday, the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer estimated that things are following "order priorities".

The presidential campaign is hit by the start of the war in Ukraine.

A situation that gives Emmanuel Macron the stature of head of state on the front line in the face of the crisis.

Invited to Europe Matin Week-End on Saturday, the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer returned to this crisis and the role played by the president.

The "very special" role of France on an international scale

"He is in his role as head of state, very well defined constitutionally, as head of the armies. For the whole world things are different from the moment there is a war but everyone can see what the order of priorities", he said in reference to the not yet announced candidacy of Emmanuel Macron and delayed by the international context.

“We must all be mobilized in relation to this considerable issue,” he assured.

For Jean-Michel Blanquer, everything must indeed "be tried".

"We must show both firmness and diplomatic capacity," he continued.

"France in this type of situation has a very specific role on an international scale. We always expect creativity, a capacity for initiative from it and it is obvious that many eyes are turned towards our president to contribute to find good solutions for the future."
