Shortly after noon, the police were alerted to an address in Uddevalla after a man allegedly aimed a weapon or "weapon-like object" from his balcony at people who passed by.
Whether these are real weapons is still unclear.
- This is probably up to a weapons technician to decide if they are real weapons, but I can say that weapon dummies or the like are made that are very similar to real weapons, says police spokesman Hans-Jörgen Ostler.
Several weapon-like objects found
The 25-year-old suspect is already known to the police and has been arrested.
After the house search, the police have found several weapon-like objects in the apartment where he was.
The man is suspected of a serious weapon crime and a serious illegal threat against a group.
According to Hans-Jörgen Ostler, the man has not been judged to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- We have no reason to believe otherwise at the moment, he says.
The police urge those who have been at the scene and felt threatened to contact the police, they write on their website.
