A death row inmate in his 50s, who had been in prison for 10 years in Iran, died of a heart attack after hearing the news of his release.

The Daily Mail reported on the 23rd local time that Akbar, 55, who had been imprisoned for 18 years with four accomplices for planned murder, died of a heart attack.

Akbar was found guilty of a murder in the Bandar Abbas district 18 years ago and was sentenced to death at the age of 37 and held in custody along with four accomplices.

After spending the rest of his life in prison, Akbar and his accomplices began imprisonment, and over time one of the accomplices was executed.

However, Akbar's life in prison was set aside.

The correctional authorities report stated that "Akh Barr suffered from a number of ailments awaiting his execution order and suffered from his anxiety and tension over his execution."

The local correctional authorities, who were monitoring Akbar's condition, eventually met with the victim's family to discuss Akbar's release.

This is because, according to Iranian Sharia law, once the victim's parents or family forgives the perpetrator, the perpetrator is no longer punished.

At first, the victim's side did not allow him to be released, but after hearing about his health and agreeing to his release, Akbar's release was decided.

Accordingly, the correctional authorities delivered the news of his release, and Akbar was said to have been very happy when he heard the news.

But the joy was short-lived, too, and Akbar was so excited about his release that he collapsed into shock and eventually suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.

Local medical personnel attempted to give first aid to Akbar who was brought to the hospital, but he died an hour after arriving at the hospital.

His family remembered him when he was alive, saying that "Akhbar lived in fear of execution his entire life," Turkish state-run Anadolu agency news agency reported on his death, "at the end of his 18 years of imprisonment in fear of death." was not freedom, but a quiet death."
