Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to negotiate a peace and armistice, spokesman Sergei Nikrov said on the 25th local time.

"Ukraine is always ready to negotiate on peace and armistice," said Reuters, TASS spokesperson Nikkirov on his Facebook page. "That is our permanent position."

"I also want to refute the claim that we rejected the talks," he added, adding that "I also accept the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin."

Earlier, the Kremlin had said it was willing to send a high-level delegation to Minsk, Belarus, to negotiate with Ukraine.

Afterwards, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, "The Ukrainian side said they would consider the idea of negotiating in Minsk, but then cut off contact after making a counter offer to move the meeting to Warsaw (Poland)."

Spokesperson Nikkirov said on Facebook that the time and place of the meeting were being discussed.
