With our correspondent in Bamako,

At the end of their stay in Bamako, Goodluck Jonathan and his delegation for once carefully avoided speaking to the press.
An official statement from the Economic Community of West African States is awaited.
But according to our information, the envoy of the sub-regional organization did not manage to obtain from the Malian authorities of the transition a date for the organization of the next elections to
mark the end of the transition
.
Negotiations continue
On the side of the Malian government, a source confirms: "
At this stage of the discussions, it is true that we have not announced an end date of the transition
".
We can therefore deduce with caution that at this stage of the exchanges, Mali does not find itself in the two crisis resolution plans contained in a work report of a technical evaluation mission.
According to this document, the first plan leads to a transition of 12 months.
The second, on a transition of 16 months.
Asked separately by RFI, an official Malian source and a diplomat agree that discussions will continue in the hope of reaching an agreement.
