The House Special Investigation Committee publicly sent a letter to Ivanka on January 20, 2022, asking her to "voluntarily cooperate with the investigation" and promised that all questions are limited to those directly related to the January 6 Capitol riots.

This is also the first time the committee has sought to engage formally with members of the Trump family.

According to information obtained by the House Special Investigations Committee from former Vice President Pence's national security adviser Keith Kellogg, Trump had a phone call with Pence on the morning of January 6, 2021, and Attempts to pressure Pence to block the certification process for electoral votes through his role as Senate president.

As one of the White House advisers, Ivanka heard Trump's call that day.

Not only that, the committee also said there was evidence that Ivanka asked her father Trump at least twice on January 6 to "stop the violence on Capitol Hill", but Trump did not respond.

According to the New York Times, which first reported the news, citing sources, Ivanka’s lawyers have been negotiating with the House special investigation committee since January 2022, and she herself has not agreed with the committee on a date for questioning.

While the committee has not threatened to issue a subpoena, Ivanka has said she has no intention of repeating the "mistake" of Stephen Bannon, one of Trump's allies, who was charged with contempt of Congress for refusing to be subpoenaed.

The insider also revealed that some aides to members of the House special investigation committee have doubts about whether Ivanka will provide "substantial information" because Trump has previously described her children as "victims of illegal investigations". Ivanka is not believed to take any action unknown or disapproved of by Trump.
