The man was convicted in the district court for attempted murder for the violence he directed against his four-year-old son and for assault for beating with an insult to his then eight-year-old son and his mother.

The Court of Appeal, which only tried the indictment regarding the eight-year-old, believes that what the man told and how he acted before and after the fight provides support that he had intended to kill the older child as well.

- It is often difficult to know what intentions a person has at the time of the act.

The evidence in this case, however, makes it clear that the man acted with a so-called intention of indifference, says the court's chairman of the Court of Appeal Erik Sundström, in a press release.

This means that the damages to the boy are increased by SEK 90,000 to SEK 173,250.

Since the man was seriously mentally disturbed at the time of the act, the forensic psychiatric care determined by the district court is determined, despite the fact that the man is now convicted of a more serious crime.

The Court of Appeal agreed with its assessment.
