- There are two judgments that have come that revoke the decisions that both the board and the council have made.

We familiarize ourselves with the judgments and our board will then make a decision on how we should relate to them, says Anders Sylvan, director of the Swedish Ambulance Flight Association.

The Administrative Court considers that KSA's current activities do not correspond to what they have stated that they must conduct in their federal regulations.

It states that the purpose of the business is to "procure and coordinate air ambulance services", ie not drive under its own auspices as the company does nowadays.

- A union order was written in 2016 with an idea of how things would be.

Now we are in a different situation six years later and then you need a union order that is adapted to the conditions that exist right now, says Anders Sylvan.

New order must be voted through in 21 regions

So the solution is to change this, but it is not quite simple.

KSA's council has already hammered out a new union order this February, but for it to enter into force, it is required that all 21 members, Sweden's regions, one by one vote through the same thing.

At the same time, the union has two weeks before the verdict becomes final, which it does if no appeal is submitted.

The Swedish Transport Agency is currently analyzing how the ruling may affect KSA's permit to conduct aviation operations.

"However, we will wait until the verdict becomes final, or if an appeal takes place, before any possible action is taken," writes Elin Roos, section manager, in an email response to SVT.
