Skavsta Airport outside Nyköping has in recent days been the only direct flight connection between Sweden and Ukraine.

But on Thursday morning, the airline Wizzair canceled the flight that should have landed at Skavsta at 7.55 in the morning.

Thus, the departure back to Kiev was also canceled.

According to Robert Karlsson, it is a matter of the airspace over Ukraine being closed with Russia's attack.

Passengers were on site

When the news came, there were some passengers on site at Skavsta, some were rebooked for the departure to Warsaw, while others returned home.

How do you reason as an airport in this situation?

- There are no decisions on our table.

If Wizzair wants to come up with flights, things are going well, says Robert Karlsson.

What does it look like now?

- We have a flight now on Sunday.

It is still in the system, but I would guess that it will also be canceled.

Already last week, SAS decided to cancel its flights to Ukraine.
