The Béziers Criminal Court (Hérault) on Wednesday sentenced a 24-year-old Montpellier resident to 3 years and 4 months in prison, for having organized drug trafficking, between Agde and Montpellier, since April 2021. He had been arrested on February 16 by police officers who had detected a very strong smell of cannabis, coming across it in a street.
It carried 390 g of resin.
More than 600 grams of cannabis resin, 2 grams of cocaine, 360 euros in cash, the equipment necessary for retail resale, and account books were found at his home.
In addition, "the exploitation of his mobile phones made it possible to confirm the existence of traffic due to numerous messages using a characteristic coded language with potential customers", indicates the public prosecutor of Béziers, Raphaël Balland.
"Easy Money"
He ended up admitting that he was selling narcotics in Agde and Montpellier, stating that it brought him around 700 euros a month.
However, he refused in court to give information about his supply, "for fear of reprisals, and explained that he wanted to make" easy money ", in addition to his apprenticeship income", continues the prosecutor.
Already convicted twice for drug trafficking, he confided that it was “his demon” and “that he was aware that he was now going to lose everything”.
