Russia: We destroyed their anti-aircraft defenses... And Ukraine: We shot down 5 planes of the aggressor!

The Russian military confirmed Thursday that it has destroyed its anti-aircraft defense systems and put Ukraine's air bases "out of service" after Moscow launched a military operation in the morning.

"The military infrastructure of the air bases of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has become out of service," Russian news agencies quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying, adding that "the air defense systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed."

But Ukraine confirmed Thursday that it had shot down five Russian planes and a helicopter belonging to the Russian army, which launched a military operation on Ukraine during the night.

"We shot down five planes and a helicopter belonging to the aggressor," the Ukrainian Army Staff said, according to "Agence France-Presse."
