Since Internet users learned via an investigation by "Liberation" that a dog named Douglas had voted for Valérie Pécresse in the LR primary, the web has been on fire.
And the doggie in question, which has inspired many memes, each one more hilarious than the next, even has its own Twitter account.

Douglas is in the party files
A little joke echoing the revelations of "Libé", which revealed behind the scenes of the election of Valérie Pécresse in the Republican primary on December 4th.
"Fictitious members, deceased or having followed instructions, and even a dog: practices which call into question the sincerity of the ballot", detailed our colleagues.
On the list of members who took part in the ballot, a certain Douglas caught the attention of journalists.
And for good reason, it would actually be a dog, say the authors of the investigation who contacted its owner who would be "a member of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur pro-Éric Ciotti".
"The name of the animal appears in the party files, with the contact details of its master. It is moreover, he assures, 'to test, to see if it was feasible' that the latter has filled in the name of his animal”, specifies the article.
