The initiative, which has found its audience, has been extended to other reception centers for a total of 1,525 places in 2022.

Open the dark rooms to the most precarious.
This is the objective of a partnership launched two years ago between the Samu social de Paris and cinemas in the capital, under the aegis of the Cinema mission of the Paris town hall.
Originally, this partnership concerned the LHSS St-Michel (Lits Halte Soins Santé) as well as the Halte des Femmes at the Hôtel de Ville, structures managed by the Samu social de Paris.
The people received benefited from cinema tickets financed by the Paris City Hall, in two establishments, Vincennes and UGC Les-Halles.
“The places find takers, it is because the device has an interest, notes Carine Rolland, deputy mayor of Paris in charge of culture.
Within the Samu, the social workers, who help to return to social life, told us to continue.
Thus, eight new reception and accommodation centers will be able to offer cinema seats to their beneficiaries, for a total of 1,525 seats, financed at the solidarity rate by the Paris City Hall.

“We work a lot with independent cinemas which have different programming, which we support financially and which we ask to support us in this effort to share culture, specifies Carine Rolland.
Moreover, the overwhelming majority of them participate in this initiative.
But the choice of cinemas is also made according to the “geographical proximity” of the reception centers to allow the beneficiaries to go there alone or in groups, but preferably independently.
