Russian President Putin said yesterday (23rd) that he would not send troops right away, but that promise did not last long.

It is said that even now, flashing lights and the sound of explosions continue in Ukraine.

Our reporters shared a video with a Ukrainian resident who had to flee.

Correspondent Kim A-young delivers this information.

<Reporter> This

is Vitali, 28, who lives in Uman, a city in western Ukraine.

He woke up early in the morning to a sudden roar.

He said he thought it would not be a war.

[Vitaly/Ukrainian resident of Uman: I went out on the road to check what happened.

I couldn't see anything, so I came back and heard a strange noise.

Still, I had no idea what had happened.]

It didn't take long, however, to realize that there had been a surprise Russian strike.

After just a few minutes, a series of explosions were heard.

[Vitali / Ukrainian Uman residence: There was a big explosion.

I came home, and this time the jet flew very low.]

Mr. Vitali took refuge in a warehouse near the house with his father in a hurry.

[Vitali/Ukrainian resident in Uman: I think I can survive for at least 2 weeks with this food.

(With your father?) Can you see it?]

He said the city was full of fear as the situation turned more urgent than expected.

[Vitaly/Ukrainian resident of Uman: You can probably hear the explosion from here.

I can hear you well.

I need to hide again.

It's dangerous because there's an explosion sound all the time.]

He said he was checking safety while sharing videos of the damage on social media with relatives and friends.

The video connection was cut several times as if communication was not good.

The Russian military announced no attacks on civilian areas, but Vitali said bombs were dropped near her home shortly after the interview.

[Vitali / Ukrainian resident in Uman: I am very worried and scared, but I am trying to find my composure.

It is said that it is not good to be scared in such a situation.]
