At the same time, she stressed that Biden would not change this decision under any circumstances.
“We will not fight with Russia and we will not deploy troops in Ukraine to fight Russia,” Psaki concluded.
Earlier, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the United States would deploy up to 800 troops from Italy to the Baltic countries, as well as up to eight F-35 fighter jets from Germany to NATO's eastern flank.
Deputy head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Pavel Yablonsky said that the United States could send additional units of the armed forces to Poland.
The Pentagon reported that the United States would not transfer its troops from Poland to Ukraine, but the military could provide assistance if evacuation was necessary.
