It had opened its doors on December 4 to meet the high demand for appointments for the third dose.
Two and a half months later, the vaccination center located on the plain of Baud in Rennes will close its doors definitively from Saturday afternoon.
"There is no longer any interest today in having a vaccination center of such capacity", underlines Colonel Louis-Marie Daoudal, deputy departmental director of the Ille-de-France departmental fire and rescue service. and-Vilaine.
In total, the firefighters will have carried out more than 71,000 injections since the opening of the center.
“We were shooting at 2,000 injections per day when it opened, then this gradually decreased from mid-January, specifies Colonel Daoudal.
Last Monday, for example, we only performed 119 injections”.
After the closure of the plain of Baud, it will still be possible to be vaccinated in Rennes in the centers of Malifeu, Bréquigny and the Alma shopping center.
According to the latest data provided by the Brittany Regional Health Agency, 85.6% of the Breton population eligible for the booster has already received their dose.
