“Does the Vice President, High Representative (Josep Borrell. -

) plan to include the issue of the Transnistrian conflict in bilateral and multilateral discussions with Russia and hold Moscow accountable for violations of international law, as well as OSCE principles and commitments?”

the document says.

According to Tomak, there are "constant hostile actions" from Russia in Transnistria.

The MEP is convinced that Moscow allegedly “finances” the separatist agenda and “supports” the illegal military presence, corruption and the active dissemination of anti-Western disinformation, thereby contributing to destabilization in the region.

Tomac also asked how Borrell plans to raise the priority of the Transnistrian conflict in EU foreign policy and security discussions, while focusing on a broader response to Russia's "malicious influence" in the region.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly stressed that a peacekeeping contingent is legally located in Transnistria.

Thanks to his presence, not a single military incident was allowed last year that could destabilize the situation in the region.

In addition, Moscow is in favor of holding negotiations on the Transnistrian conflict in the "5 + 2" format.

As Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, Russia is ready to become a guarantor and mediator in the settlement process.
