Disappeared on Saturday, a sexagenarian from Amnéville, in Moselle, was found on Tuesday afternoon.

His body was found “on the instructions of his spouse” who was to be presented in the evening to an examining magistrate, announced the parquet floor of Metz.

The disappearance of this woman, born in 1956, had been reported on Saturday by her son, worried about not having heard from her.

Her spouse was arrested on Saturday and taken into custody.

Traces of blood at home

The statements of the spouse allowed the investigators to find the body of the victim, announced the prosecutor of the Republic of Metz, Yves Badorc.

According to Le Républicain Lorrain, "the human remains were scattered in a thicket", in a town neighboring the couple's place of residence, in Bousse.

Traces of blood had been discovered by the investigators at their home.

The police custody of the victim's spouse was to end on Tuesday evening, before a referral to an examining magistrate for an indictment for "aggravated murder", according to Yves Badorc.

According to a report from the Ministry of the Interior, 146 women were victims of feminicide in 2019, and 102 in 2020. In total, in France, more than 200,000 women are victims of violence each year, according to the ministry.
