Rescue teams intend to suspend the search for survivors aboard the motor ferry "Euroferi Olympia", which was burnt off the coast of Greece.

The Greek Ministry of Merchant Shipping announced yesterday that search and rescue operations will be suspended as long as the ferry remains at sea.

The work is very difficult for the rescuers due to the intense heat and toxic fumes.

In addition, there is little hope of finding survivors.

It is noteworthy that the ship had to dock in one of the ports, in order to continue the work of extinguishing the fires and searching for the missing.

The ministry stated that the ship will be transferred to the container port "Astakus".

The port is located southwest of the Greek mainland, away from densely populated areas.

It is scheduled that the ship will unload the fuel as soon as possible.

The online tracking system, Marine Traffic, shows that the locomotives are already moving the ferry.

It was reported that the missing, seven from Bulgaria, two from Greece, and one Turk, were all truck drivers, and that they slept in their cars on the ferry.

They are believed to have been trapped by the fire that broke out late last Thursday.

The cause of the fire is still unclear, and one body of a man has already been recovered on Sunday.
