Etienne Blanc, former vice-president of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region and senator LR of the Rhône, announced on Wednesday that he would bring his sponsorship to Eric Zemmour to allow him to run for president.

Five senators join the elected official: Sylvie Goy-Chavent, Alain Houpert, Sébastien Meurant, Laurence Muller-Bronn and Philippe Pemezec.

A sponsorship that would not be worth support

“Today we are witnessing democratic nonsense, because candidates solicited by millions of voters, in a position, according to the polls, to access the second round, find themselves unable to stand for universal suffrage “, wrote the six senators in a press release.

They therefore "decided, in the interest of our country, in the attachment to the proper functioning of our institutions, to bring their sponsorships to Eric Zemmour who, to date, does not have the sufficient number to stand for election presidential”.

However, the press release specifies that “this sponsorship does not constitute support”.

A declaration which contradicts the positions of Etienne Blanc – favorable to Eric Zemmour – which had earned him his eviction from the Right, Center and Independent group of Lyon last November.
