CSU General Secretary Markus Blume is moving to the Bavarian cabinet and becoming the new Science Minister.

This was announced by Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on Wednesday after a meeting of the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament.

The session on the reorganization of the Bavarian cabinet began in the greatest secrecy with a mobile phone ban.

Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) had announced that he would present the ministers and state secretaries with whom he wants to go to the state elections in autumn 2023.

There has been a lot of speculation over the past few days and weeks about the new appointments in various ministries.

Details were not clear until shortly before the meeting began.

The previous district president and Deggendorf district administrator Christian Bernreiter (CSU) is apparently in the Bavarian cabinet.

In the past few days, Bernreiter had repeatedly been mentioned as a possible new construction and transport minister.

The former Environment Minister Ulrike Scharf was also traded for a change in the cabinet as a possible new Minister for Family Affairs.
