A video of a chained woman trapped in a hut in a rural village in eastern China spread on the Internet and her husband was arrested.

The shock is widespread as the woman turns out to be a victim of trafficking in rural China.

This video shows a woman with a chained neck trapped in a hut in a rural area on the outskirts of Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, eastern China.

When posted on the Internet late last month, it spread through SNS, and local authorities were investigating it as calls for truth-finding increased.

As a result, her husband was arrested on suspicion of abuse for having had her neck chained or tied up for about five years.

She is currently being treated in a hospital where she is protected because she has a mental illness.

Twenty-four years ago, the woman was trafficked from a rural village in Yunnan, about 2,000 kilometers away, and had eight children after being married to her husband.

Authorities detained eight people for being involved in trafficking, and dismissed a total of 17 executives for leaving the problem unpredictable for the local government, which initially denied trafficking. It is said that it was done.

This incident is perceived as a tragedy caused by the trafficking of women, which is still rampant in rural China and has become a major social problem, and the impact is spreading throughout China.
