A 40-year-old man has been in custody for a week now on probable cause on suspicion of involvement in the disappearance of a 25-year-old woman in Grästorp.

Now the police have decided that surveillance cameras will be set up in Grästorp due to crime or threats that they suspect may be directed at the suspect.

- It is a measure the police can take temporarily when we assess that there is an increased risk of serious crime.

In this case, it is about certain addresses connected to the suspect, says Johan Rexhag.

Everyone knows everyone

You do not want to go out with how many cameras it is, but Johan Rexhag says that it will be clear to the public when you move in a camera-monitored area.

He emphasizes that it is not an individual event that is behind the decision to set up cameras, but that it is a combined assessment of several factors.

"Most people know each other"

In addition to the damage that has already been done to a property, the police believe that the size of the community weighs in.

- This is a small urban area where most people know each other and that can of course be a factor, says Johan Rexhag.

The disappearance has both engaged and affected many in the area.

Due to this, Grästorp's church has previously chosen to keep it open to the public.
