The Diet will begin deliberation on the budget for the new fiscal year at the House of Councilors Budget Committee on the 24th, and it is expected that the ruling and opposition parties will argue over measures such as measures against the new corona, response to the situation in Ukraine, and measures against soaring crude oil prices.

The budget bill for the new fiscal year and Reiwa 4th fiscal year, which will bring the total amount of the general account to more than 107 trillion yen, was approved by the majority of the opposition Democratic Party for the People's Democratic Party in addition to the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party at the House of Representatives plenary session on the 22nd. It was sent to the House of Councilors.

In response to this, the Budget Committee of the House of Councilors will start deliberation on the budget proposal on the 24th, and on the 24th and 25th, Prime Minister Kishida and all ministers will attend and ask basic questions.

It is expected that the ruling and opposition parties will argue over measures such as measures against the new corona, measures against the situation in Ukraine such as sanctions against Russia, and measures against soaring crude oil prices including the lifting of the so-called "trigger clause".

The budget bill will be passed naturally on the 23rd of next month within the fiscal year even if the House of Councilors does not vote due to the provisions of the Constitution, but the ruling party wants to steadily proceed with the deliberation and pass it as soon as possible.

On the other hand, the opposition party will continue to pursue the government's response, such as the third inoculation of the new corona vaccine and the securing of the medical care provision system.

However, there are voices from within the opposition that the Democratic Party for the People's Democratic Party has taken an unusual response in the House of Representatives in favor of the budget proposal, and is concerned about the impact on the response to the Diet.
