After the hunting accident that claimed the life of a 25-year-old hiker on Saturday in Cantal, it's time for debate: should hunting be banned for minors?
A senatorial mission is currently investigating the security of this practice.

Saturday during a wild boar beat in Cassaniouze in Cantal, a 25-year-old hiker was fatally injured by a stray bullet while she was walking with her companion on a marked trail.
The shooter, a 17-year-old hunter, has since been charged with manslaughter.

The question of maturity at the heart of the debate
Currently, it is possible for 15-year-olds to hunt after a day of training.
At the microphone of Europe 1, the senator of the Hautes-Pyrénées and president of this joint control mission on the security of hunting, Maryse Carrère, estimated that it is undoubtedly necessary to go further.
"The question of the majority will arise. Even if the training is rigorous, it remains on the handling of a weapon and I think that the trainers are also able to understand the behavior of the person in the act of hunting. there are very mature people at 16 and others less at 18 … To see if maturity is necessary“, she asked.
