this Wednesday from a police source.

They seized a total of 4,105 products - imitations of those marketed by 35 major brands, such as Levi's, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Gucci or Dolce & Gabbana.

The damage has not yet been estimated but it could be evaluated at several hundred thousand euros.

Three suspects were arrested.

At the end of their police custody, the three men were indicted: one of them was placed in pre-trial detention, the other two were imprisoned while waiting to be presented to a judge of freedoms and of detention.

A banal check

It was by carrying out a banal check that the officials of the city police station discovered this merchandise.

They became interested in an Iveco truck coming out of the pound, in which were two men, 43 and 41 years old.

The driver of an "opener" car was also arrested.

This 31-year-old man, originally from Seine-Saint-Denis, is already well known to the police.

In custody, the suspects denied knowing that the truck contained counterfeits.

An investigation was opened by the Nanterre public prosecutor's office, which co-seized the OCRFM (Central Office for the Repression of Counterfeiting), a service of the central direction of the judicial police.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the goods were intended for the flea market of Saint-Ouen in Seine-Saint-Denis.

“Ten years ago, it only attracted people from Ile-de-France.

From now on, people come there from all over France to buy counterfeits ”, explains to

the commissioner Alain Bateau, acting head of the OCRFM.

The investigation is continuing in order to trace the import network of these products, determine the origin of these counterfeits (often China and Turkey) and to whom they were intended.
