The Federal Security Service of Russia announced the prevention of a terrorist attack on the territory of Crimea.

The details of the operation were published by the Public Relations Center of the department.

“As a result of the measures taken, six Russian citizens were detained, who are supporters of the Ukrainian extremist organization Right Sector *, who were preparing to detonate an improvised explosive device in one of the Orthodox churches in the region in order to intimidate the population,” the report says.

As noted, components for making a bomb with damaging elements and explosives were found and seized from one of the attackers in the garage.

Instructions for making explosives, correspondence discussing the planned terrorist attack, as well as information confirming the involvement of the detainees in the propaganda of radical ideology on the Internet were found in the radicals' means of communication.

Along with this, symbols of the "Right Sector" were found at the addresses of the intruders.

Meanwhile, representatives of the DPR and LPR report ongoing shelling of the territory of the republics by the Ukrainian military.

The DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC) on February 23 reported on the activity of Ukrainian armed formations over the past week.

From February 17 to 12:00 on February 23, 342 violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded by the Ukrainian military, 250 of which were with the use of heavy weapons.

A total of 4,473 rounds of various calibers were fired.

As a result of shelling, four civilians were killed, three of them as a result of sabotage on the Donetsk-Gorlovka highway.

Three more civilians received injuries of varying severity.

During the seven days of exacerbation, 26 residential buildings, 19 civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, including one medical facility, three educational institutions and four critical infrastructure facilities, including a water supply system and a television center.

“The enemy does not stop fire activity along the entire line of contact, while trying to destabilize the situation inside the republic, arranging sabotage and shelling the residential sector,” the report says.

In turn, the representative office of the LPR in the JCCC stated that on February 22 alone, 114 violations of the ceasefire regime by the Armed Forces of Ukraine were recorded.

Of these, heavy weapons were used in 69 cases.

One military LPR and two civilians were killed.

“In total, 1,446 munitions (297 shells, 554 mines, 11 rockets and 584 grenades) were fired across the territory of the LPR,” the report says.

On February 23, shelling continued.

In particular, seven houses of civilians in the area of ​​the village of Vesyolaya Gora were damaged.

The official representative of the People's Militia of the Lugansk People's Republic, Ivan Filiponenko, said that the increase in the number and intensity of shelling by the Kiev regime is due to the pulling of additional artillery units to the line of contact.

“According to information received from residents of the territory occupied by Kiev, under the pretext of a planned evacuation of the population, the military-civil administration is evicting civilians from houses in the settlements of Zolote and Popasnaya.

About 60 people were taken out.

The vacated houses were settled by the security forces who arrived," the statement said.
